CP Titanium Grade 7 Plates is mechanically and physically equivalent to Grade 2, except with the addition of the interstitial element palladium, making it an alloy. Titanium CP Grade 7 Plates is an unalloyed titanium grade with standard oxygen content and addition of palladium. It contains 0.12 to 0.25 percent of palladium. The addition of palladium gives Titanium UNS R52400 Plates enhanced crevice corrosion resistances at low temperatures and high PH and is the most corrosion resistant of all titanium alloys.
Ti Gr 7 Plates is the most resistant to corrosion in reducing acids with physical/mechanical properties equivalent to Gr. 2. Because Ti CP Grade 7 Plates is highly resistant to corrosion by sea water, this titanium is used to make propeller shafts, rigging, and heat exchangers in desalination plants; heater-chillers for salt water aquariums, fishing line and leader, and divers' knives.
